The Saudi Arabian Oil Co., most popularly known as Saudi Aramco, is a Saudi Arabian national petroleum and natural gas company. Situated in Dhahran, Saudi Aramco's cooling plant is the largest of its kind in the world. It has been the home of Saudi Aramco's headquarters for 80 years and it is the country’s first and the largest gated compound with residential, office buildings, including the newly opened landmark, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra).
Saudi Tabreed signed the final agreement with Saudi Aramco based on 25 years, Build, Own, Operate and Maintain of Mega Cooling plant. It is first District Cooling schemes which started on February 2013. The District Cooling Scheme in Saudi Aramco is 32,000 TR capacity that includes 7,000 TR (Peak) Thermal Energy Storage Tank utilized for energy saving. The Chilled Water Piping network reaches 16 km to facilities Saudi Aramco's requirement for Comfort Cooling.
